Three Card Poker
Posted at 03/30/2011 07 PM in Beginner Topics by The Greedy Gecko.
In the world today, there are as many casino games as one can possibly imagine. Most of these casino games are played using cards. They all have standard rules that govern the manner in which they should be played. Poker is a perfect example of the popular casino games that there are in the world. In this game, players make or place their bets based on the total value of combination of cards and the person who emerges the winner is the player in possession of the highest hand value. Like most other casino card games, the poker game comes in a wide variety and three card poker is one of its popular versions. As may have been observed in other casino games, usually varieties of a game follow the standard rules of the main game. Equally, the three card poker game follows the standard rules of playing ordinary poker save for some slight variations in the rules.

Three card poker is also known as tri card poker due to the use of three cards in the game and is said to be one of the oldest poker variations in the world. With its history dating back to several decades ago, three card poker has slowly evolved to become one of the most popular poker casino games in the world today. Similar to most casino games, bets by players are made prior to the commencement of the game. There are two major bets that are made in the tri card poker game. These bets are the ante and the pair plus bets.

The dealer gives each player a maximum number of three cards which the players are allowed to examine. The dealer is however not allowed to examine his cards and these are therefore dealt facing down. A player who has made an ante bet has two options: either to raise or surrender which is normally known as folding. If the player decides to fold, it then means that he loses his earlier bet, but if he raises he must make an additional bet that must be equal to the prior bet. After the player is done, the dealer now turns his cards and according to the rules of the game, he must have at least cards with ten so as to win. These cards are the queen, the king and the ace.

Three card poker comes in form of two games one of which is optional although the rules of some casinos require that a player plays the both games. If a player is required to play the both games, he need not place equal bets in the both games thus allowing for different bets may be placed. The deck of cards used in playing three card poker is the standard 52 deck as it is in most games. Three card poker is also available online and can be played at from the comfort of your home. It is important to note that in tri card poker, cards are normally dealt from one deck unlike in most other games.

To deal basically means to start the game once the bets have been placed and the players have been given the cards by the dealer. A raise is a move made by a player when he is sure that he is likely to outdo the dealer. It is after this that the cards are revealed where the winner is known.

The game of three card poker or tri card poker as it is also called is not only for fun but are also used as a means to making money.
